Obituary of Jacob Wilson

Jacob Ronnie Wilson was born October 14, 1957 in Sumter to the late Jackson and Laura English Wilson, Sr.

He attended the public schools of Sumter County and upon his completion of high school, he joined the United States Army and served faithfully.

Jacob loved the game of basketball and played the game while serving in the US Army. The game of basketball brought Jacob a lot of attention and that’s when people gave him the nickname “Jake the Snake”.

After serving his time in the military, Jacob begin his driving career by driving for the City of Sumter, Sumter School District and the Regional Bus Station.

Jacob married Debra Lewis and to this union one daughter was born, Nakeeta Wilson.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his niece, Lakeshia Wilson.

Jacob departed this life on Sunday, May 10, 2020 in Sumter.

Jacob leaves to cherish his fond memory, two children, Nakeeta Wilson of Bentonia, MS and Quinton Bennett of Sumter, SC; granddaughter, Aariah Samuel of Sumter; five brothers, Jackson (Jackie) Wilson, Jr. of Sumter, Earl Wilson of Miami, FL, Marvin (Betty) Wilson of Jacksonsville, FL, Moses Wilson of Sumter, SC and Timothy (Duwane) Wilson of Eastover, SC; one sister, Eva Hodge of Sumter, SC; one uncle, Harry English of Augusta, GA; one aunt, Lela Davis of Baltimore, MD and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
