Obituary of Dorothy Mae McBride

Dorothy Mae McBride the wife of the late Clyde McBride was born December 25, 1924 in Sumter, SC to the late Frank and Katie Wilson Wright.

Dorothy was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She married Clyde McBride in 1940. Dorothy was a housewife and lived and loved life for over 94 years.

Dorothy was the backbone of her family and continued to be a strong woman until the end. She loved her children regardless and was always there to listen to our problems or concerns.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde McBride; a daughter, Katie Mae McCray; two sons, Clyde McBride, Jr. and O’Neal McBride.

Dorothy departed this life on Saturday, July 13, 2019 in Sumter.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her children, Willie McBride, James (Rose) McBride, Dyann Coleman, Beja Brandon (Dupree), Bernice McBride, Gloria Sutton (Leon), Edward (Tanya) McBride and Anthony MCBride; grandchildren, Shirley McCray (Walter), Katherine McCray (Tony), Annette Mickens (Robert), Yvette Segler, Rickey McCray, Charles Coleman, III, Tyrone Coleman, Curtis Coleman, Charlene Croome (Derek), Sandra C. Diggs (Don), Tonya Barroa, Patrick (Brittney) Styles, Antionette Mitchell, Reginald McBride, Tyrell McBride, Eric McBride, Sonya McBride, Synell McBride, Sabrina McBride, Samantha McBride, Sheldon McBride and Taijon (Lil Neal) Scarborough; a host of great grandchildren; goddaughter, Veronica Wilson Dukes and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
