Obituary of Keith Fitzgerald Hatcher

Keith Fitzgerald Hatcher, affectionately know as “Greg”, was born February 28, 1965 in Newark, NJ to Ethel Hatcher Bennett and Sam Bennett and the late Jerry Adams.

Greg was reared in South Carolina by his grandmother, the late Mary G. Hatcher. He was educated in the public schools of South Carolina and received his high school diploma from Scotts Branch High School in Summerton, SC.

Greg was a very loving and caring person. Greg loved his family and he loved to cook. He pursued his dreams of being a cook after moving to East Orange, NJ with his mom. He attended Star Career Academy in Newark, NJ and received his certificate in Culinary Arts. Greg worked for Office Café in Livingston, NJ for many years before being employed with Clara Mass Hospital in Bloomfield, NJ. Greg always wanted to work at Beth Israel Hospital and he accomplished his dreams of working for the hospital until God saw fit to call him home.

Greg was a man that believed in God, he joined Antioch R.M.U.E Church at an early age where he served on the Usher Board and Youth Choir. He later joined Job’s Temple Church in Newark, NJ where he served as a Deacon and sung on the choir. Two of his favorite songs were, “Real, Real Jesus is Real to Me”, and “He’s Sweet I Know”.

On February 13, 2019 after a life well lived he traded his labor for reward.
