Obituary of Jerome Shannon

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4

Jerome Edwin Shannon, husband of Delores Goodman, was born on August 20, 1965 in Sumter County to the late Vanish Shannon and Alice Bracey Shannon.

He attended Sumter County public schools and worked vari- ous jobs throughout his life. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and baptized at Church of God by Faith. He loved the Lord dearly and everyone he encountered, but most of all he loved his bike. To know Jerome was to love him; es- pecially his laughter, crying and smile.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; Vanish and Al- ice Bracey Shannon and brother; Moscoe Shannon.

Jerome departed this life to enter into his new eternal life on the morning of October 19, 2018.

Jerome leaves to cherish his memory a beloved spouse of 30 years; Delores Goodman, two daughters; Latasha Ham- Singleton of Columbia, SC and Bridget Goodman of Sumter, SC., seven grandchildren; Shakira Tips, Malasia Tips, Trequan Singleton, Jayshon Singleton all of Columbia, SC, Kalvin Epps, Kallie Goodman and Alex Walcott all of Sumter, SC., one brother; Vanish Shannon Jr of Sumter, SC, seven sis- ters; Patricia (Ervin) Barrentine of Patterson, NJ. Desaran S. Moody, Jean Shannon, Sandra Shannon, Audrey Shannon, and Sherry Shannon all of Sumter, SC and Yolanda Shannon of Charlotte N.C., five aunts, two uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved dearly.

The family is receiving friends at 339 North Street Sumter, SC.
